About me

I was born in the East End of London and had an amazing childhood in Middlesex, UK. I spent a couple of decades as a single parent in Michigan, earned my bachelor's degree in Civil engineering and moved to Florida. The recession took me on a circuitous route from Florida to Kentucky, Northern Michigan, and back to Florida. I created this blog at the urging of friends curious about my past and interested in my future. My passions are: reading, Traditional Country Dancing, cooking, photography, travel, SCUBA diving, GIS, Floodplain Management, and Disaster Risk Management.
